This information is brought to you in collaboration with Asheville City Council and NC General Assembly Members
I recently had the honor of advocating for our community's recovery as part of a 14-member group of elected leaders in Washington, D.C. It was inspiring to come together across the rural-urban divide and speak with one voice for WNC. This experience provided a meaningful opportunity to meet with our Congress representatives, both North Carolina Senators, FEMA, and representatives from the White House, to articulate our needs and priorities. We made progress on accelerating FEMA reimbursements and continue to push for expanded support.
I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to you, as your voices shape my advocacy. Please continue contacting all of your elected officials, lifting your voices through rallies and protests, completing City of Asheville surveys, and participating in public input meetings.Your feedback fuels our collective voice and drives impactful change.
On the heels of that, I’m excited to announce a new initiative I'm calling “Coffee With a Councilwoman.” As our budget preparations take center stage, I believe it’s essential to hear from you about how the budgeting process affects your lives, along with any other items you want to share
Drop in on Tuesday, May 6, anytime between 8 AM to 11 AM at Ultra Coffebar, and let's show our RAD workers and businesses some love. I want to engage with you - hear your perspectives, learn about your priorities, and understand what works best for you. Your insight will be invaluable as we move forward together.
I hope you all had a wonderful Easter, and I look forward to seeing you on May 6!
