Brokers Reception Spotlights Catalytic Sites Across Clayton County

On May 27th, the City of Lovejoy Community Center welcomed brokers, developers, and community leaders for the Aerotropolis Atlanta Alliance Clayton County Brokers Reception, an evening dedicated to highlighting catalytic development sites across the Clayton County region.

Throughout the evening, attendees moved between presentation boards detailing each site's development potential and asked questions of city and county leadership.

Events like this one are where the groundwork for future investment gets laid. By putting brokers and developers directly in front of the people shaping these communities, the Aerotropolis Atlanta region continues to position itself as a place where opportunity is not just discussed, it's mapped out, site by site.

Thank you to everyone who attended and to our cities, county, and corporate partners for making the evening possible.

The Aerotropolis Community Hiring & Resource Fair: Building Pathways to Economic Freedom

As we mark Juneteenth this month, a celebration of freedom, progress, and the ongoing work of building a more equitable future, it felt fitting to reflect on an event that embodies exactly that spirit: our annual Aerotropolis Community Hiring & Resource Fair.

On Saturday, May 9th, the Aerotropolis Atlanta community gathered at the Georgia International Convention Center for a day centered on one simple idea: economic opportunity is foundational to freedom. Access to good jobs, fair wages, and resources isn't just a workforce goal. It's part of the broader story of communities building self-sufficiency and generational progress.

This year, 575 attendees connected with 50 partner companies and organizations spanning hospitality, logistics, public safety, healthcare, real estate, and more. By the end of the day, 150 onsite hires, interviews, and appointments had been made, meaning roughly one in four attendees walked away with a next step toward employment.

Beyond job offers, the fair connected attendees to resume support and workforce training, the kind of infrastructure that helps a community not just survive, but thrive.

A Community Effort

None of this happens without the people and organizations who show up to invest in our community's future. Thank you to the 50 participating companies and organizations that came ready to hire and open doors. Our volunteers and the community members who showed up ready to take the next step.

Looking Ahead

As we honor Juneteenth this year, we're reminded that the work of building equity and opportunity is ongoing, and events like this are one small but meaningful part of that larger story. Aerotropolis Atlanta Alliance remains committed to strengthening pathways to opportunity for the communities we serve.

Access to Capital Series Helps Entrepreneurs Get Loan Ready

The Aerotropolis Access to Capital for Entrepreneurs series launched this spring, bringing small business owners directly into the room with the lenders and capital partners who can help take their businesses to the next level.

Hosted at the LHTO Center for Innovation, the Lunch and Learn series features sessions by ACE Loans and LISC Atlanta, covering everything from preparing for a small-business loan to understanding commercial and residential real estate financing.

Bonita Doster of ACE Loans opened the series on April 22nd with a session on preparing for equipment, lines of credit, and inventory financing, followed by Jasmine Aimes on April 29th, covering commercial real estate loan readiness for owner-occupied, investment, and multifamily properties. Jewel D. Williams of LISC Atlanta led sessions in May, walking attendees through the fundamentals of access to capital and real estate loan options.

The series wrapped with a LISC and ACE panel discussion on May 27th. Each session brought together engaged entrepreneurs who asked real questions and walked away with real tools.

This is what access to capital looks like when it's done right: practical information, trusted partners, and a seat at the table for the people doing the work.
