The Aerotropolis is more than a region. It is a cultural engine where Black history, leadership, and innovation converge to shape Atlanta’s present and future.
Atlanta native 2 Chainz is widely known for his impact on music and pop culture, but his role as a co-owner of the College Park Skyhawks represents a shift in influence rooted within the community.
Born Tauheed Epps, 2 Chainz is a product of the Aerotropolis Region. He attended North Clayton High School, where he excelled academically and athletically long before global fame.
His co-ownership of the Skyhawks matters because ownership-level representation opens doors and redirects resources. In a region where Black culture drives economic growth, creative identity, and global recognition, representation becomes essential.
As the NBA G League affiliate of the Atlanta Hawks, the College Park Skyhawks sit at the intersection of sports, development, and community investment. Their presence reinforces the City of College Park as a cultural and economic anchor and creates pathways for talent.
This spotlight highlights how Black excellence is represented in boardrooms, ownership groups, and regional institutions. It is about honoring the journey from local schools to global platforms and reinvesting that success back into the community.
That is Black history in motion.
