Our team at Affirmed is off to a great start in 2023 with many milestones yet to come.
This year we will be completing construction on 10 communities, with close to 1,000 homes throughout California-located in San Diego, Los Angeles and San Jose. We also anticipate several construction starts in ’23. We continue to feel very fortunate to have many dedicated partners (across the entire development spectrum) who help us do what we do best-develop affordable homes for families, Veterans, unhoused Californians, seniors and our future generations to come. Cheers to 2023 and overcoming any and all obstacles to come!

The Grand Opening of The Orchard at Hilltop |
The Orchard at Hilltop is a premier mixed-use, infill development that enriches the Chollas View community in San Diego with 113 affordable apartment homes, numerous street and pedestrian public improvements, a hospitality venue, and a renewed storm water channel and natural wildlife habitat. Amenities for Orchard residents include a swimming pool with a lounge deck and spacious clubhouse; a learning center for after-school programs; a Kompan playground and a recreational lawn; a basketball court; and resident services customized to meet the needs of the multi-generational community.
Dignitaries in attendance included San Diego Mayor Todd Gloria and San Diego Councilmember Kent Lee.

Meet José and Breanna, the newest members of the Affirmed team! |
|
José J. Lujano joined the Affirmed team in January 2023 and is based in our Northern California Office in East San Jose. José graduated from the University of Michigan with a master’s degree in public policy and from Santa Clara University with a B.S. in Political Science & Sociology. José’s prior experience is largely around policy and government, working at every level of government, most recently for Mayor Sam Liccardo of San Jose. In his free time, José enjoys traveling and hitting the nearest dog-friendly hiking trails.

Breanna joined the Affirmed team in February 2023 as an Asset Manager and is based in our San Diego office. Breanna started her career in appraisals and received her Apprentice Appraisal License. She then moved into conventional property management and received her CAA Property Management Certification, followed by working in affordable housing management. In her free time, Breanna enjoys traveling, baking, spending time with family and wood turning.
