The Grand Opening of Westhaven | |
|
Westhaven is a new Supportive Housing community located in Los Angeles County at 11609 S. Western Avenue. There are a total of 56 apartment homes for formerly unhoused individuals in Los Angeles County and one manager’s unit. 39 of the new homes are set aside as No Place Like Home (NPLH) apartments providing Supportive Housing for Angelenos in need of mental health services. Resident amenities include a community room, computer room, bike storage and an outdoor community space. On-site supportive services are provided by The People Concern, assisting residents in achieving their highest level of self-sufficiency.
Los Angeles County Supervisor Holly J. Mitchell was in attendance, along with Los Angeles County Development Authority (LACDA).

NOVA’s talented team has been behind approximately 50% of our recent developments over the past 5 years and 100% of our developments in San Diego County. We are accredited by AASHTO in the testing of soils, asphalt, concrete, aggregate, masonry, fireproofing, and reinforcing. In addition, our laboratory is approved by the City of San Diego, has been validated by the US Army Corps of Engineers, and is inspected and accepted by the Division of the State Architect (DSA) and the Department of Health Care Access and Information (HACI).

Meet Lyna and Heidi, the newest members of the Affirmed team! | |
|
Lyna joined the Affirmed team in May 2023 as an Accounting Assistant and is based in our San Diego office. Lyna served in the U.S Navy for 8 years. From there, she started her professional administrative career in the military Training Department. She is currently going to school at the University of Phoenix for a bachelor’s degree in business with a focus on accounting. In her free time, Lyna likes to hike, travel, and spend time with her friends and family.

Heidi joined the Affirmed team in June 2023 as an Assistant Project Manager and is based in our Northern California Office in East San Jose. Heidi recently graduated from Santa Clara University where she studied public relations and commercial real estate and finance. Heidi has prior experience working for a multifamily affordable housing developer, first in acquisitions and operations and later as an Asset Management Analyst. In her free time, Heidi enjoys skateboarding, motocross, and volunteer tutoring at elementary schools in need.
