Understanding the Affordable Care Act: Information for New Jersey Freelance Artists & Arts Workers

Join the New Jersey State Council on the Arts and The Actors Fund for a free webinar to help NJ freelance artists and arts workers understand what's available to them through the Affordable Care Act.

This webinar will help you understand the Affordable Care Act and give you clear, step-by-step guidance on what all your insurance options are and how to get the most affordable coverage. We will provide important information relevant to freelancers and the self-employed. Find out how to re-estimate your income during a pandemic and see if you're eligible for free insurance or subsidies. This is an excellent opportunity for unbiased, comprehensive information.

Questions answered include:
  • What are my health insurance options now and in 2021?
  • How can I tell if I bought a junk insurance plan?
  • How much will insurance cost me?
  • Am I eligible for a subsidy to lower the cost of premiums?
  • Am I eligible for free insurance?
  • How do I estimate my income in a pandemic?
  • How do I pick a plan that's right for me?
  • What are my rights as a consumer?
  • Where do I get care if I'm uninsured?

This free webinar will include a presentation by Renata Marinaro, LMSW, the National Director of Health Services for The Actors Fund, followed by a Q&A. The information provided will be the same on both dates below, and a recording will be made available and shared on the Council's website.

Wednesday, October 28th, 12pm - 1:30pm
