Montgomery Township Planning Board – Public Information Session on the Amended Affordable Housing Plan

The Montgomery Township Planning Board will hold an informational session on Monday, Feb. 9 to present the forthcoming amended Housing Element of the Master Plan and Fair Share Plan, commonly known as the township’s affordable housing plan. Residents are invited to attend, learn about the proposed updates, and understand how the plan is expected to change ahead of the formal public

hearing scheduled for Feb. 23. This session offers an opportunity for the community to gain clarity, ask questions, and prepare informed comments before the hearing.

Did You Beat the Winter Blues?

Over 125 residents participated in fun activities and hands-on workshops designed to bring warmth to the winter season. We are grateful for the over 20 vendors who provided participants with entertainment, resources and refreshments.

The event featured three workshops, beginning with gentle flow yoga followed by a discussion focused on achieving personal balance. Participants learned positive coping strategies to address stressful situations in all aspects of life. The final workshop, Teen Speak, gave parents and caregivers the tools needed to improve communication and reduce common teen risk behaviors.

Take Care of Your Heart!

February is American Heart Month, a crucial time to raise awareness about cardiovascular health, the leading cause of death in the U.S. It is a nationwide effort to encourage healthy lifestyle changes, such as eating nutritious foods, exercising regularly and managing blood pressure to prevent heart disease.

Kick off American Heart Month by joining us for a discussion on what is new in heart health! Led by Health Educator Sigrid Solis, the program will highlight the latest recommendations that connect to heart health, including major shifts in how fats are being discussed. Learn what is new, what remains the same, and how to make informed, heart-smart choices without the confusion.

Online applications for annual dog and cat licenses are still open. Licensing can be completed at the next free rabies clinics on Saturday, Feb.21 at Otto Kaufman Community Center. Find more information on licensing here and contact the clerk’s office with questions at (908) 533-9188.

The Montgomery Departments of Health and Planning have activated a community transportation needs survey to better understand how residents travel, where service gaps exist, and how we can improve mobility for everyone. Take the survey here.
