The Africa Pavilion COP 29 Events

African regional organizations and partners jointly host the Africa Pavilion to provide a platform for dialogue and to ensure that Africa’s priorities and concerns are effectively represented during global climate change negotiations. Since its inception at COP17 in 2011 in Durban, South Africa, the Africa Pavilion has served as a critical space for amplifying Africa's voice and fostering its active participation in the UNFCCC Conferences of the Parties (COPs). The Pavilion also facilitates networking and collaboration among officials from Member States, as well as stakeholders from policy, scientific, and practice-oriented communities.

At COP29, the Africa Pavilion is hosted by the African Development Bank (AfDB), the African Union Commission (AUC), the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA), and the African Union Development Agency-NEPAD (AUDA-NEPAD), in collaboration with key regional partners such as Africa Risk Capacity. It provides a dedicated venue for African nations to convene, align strategies, and advocate for shared positions and interests on the global stage.
