Dear brothers and sisters in our Lord Jesus, part of the growing repentance remnant, members of His flock, of which Jesus is the Shepherd (John 10:16), Jesus being the first to preach His gift of repentance (Matthew 4:17), now calling on each of us also to preach repentance (Luke 24:47).
Luke 24:46-47 AMP
“Then He said to them, “Thus it is written, and thus it was necessary for the Christ to suffer and to rise from the dead the third day, and that repentance [necessary] for forgiveness of sins would be preached in His name to all the nations, beginning from Jerusalem. ”
This scripture in Luke 24 contains a deep hidden message and also a calling to every believer in Jesus / Yeshua!
First of all it contains the Gospel in just 2 verses - as it basically summarises the whole bible in just 2 verses.
Verse 46 tells us it was "necessary" for the Messiah to suffer and die, and to be raised from the dead on the 3rd day!! And then verse 47 tells us "So that Repentance necessary for the forgiveness of sins should be preached."
Meaning that if Jesus / Yeshua didn't go through all that pain and suffering and death on the cross and also His resurrection on the 3rd day, we could not preach Repentance and neither Forgiveness of sins!!
It was of an absolute necessity for it all to happen exactly as it did. And the whole bible, book after book - from the old Testament right through to Revelation in the New Testament, are all trying to explain the reasons why it was so necessary. Every book in the bible brings this idea across, everything the faith patriarchs went through is prophetically pointing towards Jesus / Yeshua, in one way or another. Every prophetic book is telling us about it, even the Psalms sings about it over and over. We just need to look for it. It is often somewhat "hidden" and only those who are studying the Word with the help and presence of the Holy Spirit, will truly see it - running like a golden thread throughout the Bible.
And the very reason for this "golden thread" - is so that we can first of all come to Repentance and Receive God's Forgiveness as well as all His Blessings for ourselves. But it doesn't stop there - it now motivates us to preach Repentance and the Forgiveness of Sins to every person we come across in our lifetime. We should never keep quiet. We must tell someone else about what we've discovered. As the message of Salvation is for everyone! (Rom 10)
But what is even more special is - in the King James version the words "Remission of sins" are used - which is even a stronger concept of just forgiveness. For the word Remission really means: "No evidence can be found!".
Meaning that when God forgives us our sins - then Ps 103:12 makes so much sense - when David wrote “As far as the east is from the west, So far has He removed our transgressions from us.” (Psalms 103:12 AMP)
For it is the BLOOD of Jesus / Yeshua that "Cleanses or Purifies" us from all sins / unrighteousness (1 John 1:7-9) - Meaning that when we are "washed in His Blood" (1 Cor 6:11,Rev 1:5, Rev 7:14) - no evidence should be found anymore from those sins that had been hindering us all our lives.
So the question we should ask ourselves is - Why are we still struggling then with sin - why aren't we getting free from all those transgressions and evil we struggle with??
The answer lies right there in Luke 24:47 - Repentance!!
Now we might think this is too obvious - but this was the very message Jesus / Yeshua started His Ministry with in Matt 4:17 - which in fact John the Baptist preached first - even before he revealed Who the Lamb of God was (Matt 3:2)
Matthew 4:17 AMP
“From that time Jesus began to preach and say, “Repent [change your inner self—your old way of thinking, regret past sins, live your life in a way that proves repentance; seek God’s purpose for your life], for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.””
For it is true Repentance before God of every sin in our lives, that is bringing God's Forgiveness for us. If we don't truly repent - changing our minds, and walk away from it - we will always struggle with that sin, whatever it might be.
And I found that when I Receive God's Forgiveness for myself, that it becomes just so much easier to walk away from whatever I found I was doing wrong. And once I've repented, and made that choice never to go back to my old ways anymore, somehow that burden of guilt and shame also lifts, and I walk away free from that specific sin. And then healing comes back into my life as well.
And that is the message that needs to be preached to every person on earth! It is Repentance that leads to the Forgiveness or rather The Remission of Sins! Somewhere between Forgiveness and Repentance the Power of the Blood of Jesus comes into effect, and we get cleansed, healed, set free and delivered.
And that is then when Jesus' exact words come into effect when He said to His Disciples to say to those that they have ministered healing to, that: "The Kingdom of God has come near you" (Luke 10:9)
FOR: It is when we Repent - and thus are Forgiven - That the Gates of the Kingdom of Heaven open up for us - and we can step into all the Promises of God, and walk in His Blessings.
But if we refuse to Repent, that is why we struggle to receive anything from God. It is literally God's "Requirement" that we shake off every sinful thought and deed from our lives, and choose to only live a Holy Life before Him 24/7 everyday of our lives - never going back to any of those wrong ways of thinking, speaking or doing ever again.
Jesus didn't suffer and die, "just for the fun of it" (for the lack of a better word). His suffering was very real, and God takes it all very serious, for eternity. And He has showed us that if we are taking Him serious and truly say sorry for our sins - asking Him for His Forgiveness, owning up to our bad behavior, He will truly forgive us and also remove from us all our sins - which is what had led to our suffering, sorrow, shame, sickness, guilt and even death - and make us whole and righteous again - which is Exactly what 2 Chron 7:13-14, Isa 53:5, 2 Cor 5:21 all tells us!
But we will only be able to do that, if we truly chose to recognize and admit our wrong thoughts, words and actions/behavior before God! And then once we can truly receive His Forgiveness - and once we can realise how important and damaging our sins all really are---then it becomes much easier to chose to change our ways and choose to walk away from that sin - which is true Repentance from the heart.
But, if we can't see, nor want to admit that something is wrong, we will continue in that path, and then also receive the consequences of our thoughts, words & actions - until one day we come to the point of realising the damage we have caused.
God is faithful and patient. He waits for us to come to that insight in life. The sooner the better. But how will we know, unless we either take the time to read the bible for ourselves, or someone steps up to their calling, and starts preaching it (Rom 10:1-17)!!
For the bible is very clear on what is wrong and what is right. It is written in so many places, but we have to take the time to read and study the word for ourselves. There are all kinds of warnings written in all 66 books of the bible. We just need to open our eyes and listen to the Holy Spirit warning us - showing them out to us. And then not get offended when we see it. But instead be "Zealous to Repent" - as Jesus suggested in the letter to Laodicea in Rev 3:19.
And this brings me to Bishop Joseph in Malawi - and the youths catching this Fire of Repentance! They are now starting to see the depths of it all, and their desire now is for everyone to hear this message. 'Cause that is what happens when you understand WHY Jesus / Yeshua had to suffer and die - and then experience the POWER of God's Forgiveness or rather the Remission of sins, when we truly repent! They get it - and they want to share it !!
And the Africa Youth Alive Meeting that was held end of September has now triggered an urgent need for a 3-day outreach meeting this coming week-end! The Fire has been lit - and it is already spreading!!
Here follows the latest messages and budget from Bishop Joseph. As he needs our support to come in quickly, in order for them to continue with this message of Repentance. It is growing in intensity - and it is spreading fast! This is Revival at its best!
And we at NDR can't keep up with the pace they are moving.
Will you please consider helping us, helping them?
Let us work together to Fuel this Fire!!
