The State of Small Business
The chamber is the Voice of Business and as the Voice of Business, there’s something we feel the need to express to everyone in this community. Inflation is being felt everywhere, from Fortune 500 companies to solopreneurs just starting out.
However, the difference between large-scale companies and smaller ones are their reserves. According to JP Morgan Chase, the average small business runs with only 27 days of operating expenses in reserves. Increases in utilities, goods and services, real estate, and gas costs; supply chain issues impacting delivery; and employee shortages have taken a toll on businesses, especially our smaller ones.
In this challenging time, while you are dealing with your own concerns over stretching your paycheck, we want to share some things you might not realize. Read more.

Special Town Election Voter Information for Raynham
Dear Voters,
On March 5, 2022, voters district-wide approved the Bristol-Plymouth Regional Vocational Technical School District’s plans to construct a new District High School.
On May 16, 2022, voters at the Raynham Annual Town Meeting approved Article 13 to authorize the Town to exempt from the provisions of Proposition Two-and-one-half the amounts required to pay for the Town’s share of the bonds issued to the Bristol-Plymouth Regional Vocational Technical School District for the purpose of paying the costs of designing, engineering, constructing, and equipping the new District High School to be located at 207 Hart Street in Taunton, including the payment of all incidental costs.
This Special Town Election meets the legal requirements for a “debt exclusion” measure to be approved or denied by registered voters. A “Yes” vote authorizes the debt exclusion measure. A “No” vote requires the Town to find other ways, such as the operating budget, to fund its obligation to pay its share as a member of the Bristol-Plymouth District. It should be noted that a “debt exclusion” is not a permanent Proposition. Two-and-one-half override. It pertains exclusively to the costs related to the particular project.
The election will take place on Tuesday, June 28th, from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m. at the Raynham Middle School, 420 Titicut Road. All precincts vote at the Raynham Middle School. Absentee ballots are available at the Town Clerk’s Office.
