Effective January 1, 2024, over-the-counter stock parts (131 claim type) and over-the-counter accessory parts (13i claim type) are not eligible for the Supplemental Warranty Parts Markup.

Over-the-counter stock parts and accessory parts will continue to be reimbursed at the Manufacturer Suggested Retail Price. For additional reimbursement information, refer to section 2.4.1 Reimbursement of Parts within the Audi Warranty Policies and Procedures Manual.

Over-the-counter stock parts and accessory parts include any that an authorized Audi Dealership provides but does not use or install in the course of a repair.

We have been advised that upcoming software changes in our Model Year 2024 vehicles will impact the potential to retrofit the Audi accessory hitch on Model Year 2024 Q4, Q5, Q7, Q8 and Q8 e-tron vehicles. Consequently, we are writing to inform you of these changes and their anticipated impact.

Please note that these changes affect the accessory hitch only – the factory offering is not affected.

Background:

According to the UNECE ( United Nations Economic Commission for Europe) new requirements and regulations regarding software updates and cyber security will apply to new vehicles from Model Year 2024 in order to ensure technological progress and new safety standards. There are requirements for the documentation of installation states (software and hardware) in the vehicle and for the respective access authorizations on control devices.

As a result of these changes, new accessory hitch part numbers will need to be ordered for the affected models.

Due to the timing of the software update, the retrofit compatibility of the accessory hitches (via Dealer Installation or Port installation) will only be possible from the week of November 6th 2023* onwards.

The table below provides an overview of the affected models and the new accessory part number required.

Please note that previous part numbers are not compatible with these Model Year 2024 vehicles. We recommend that parts managers use ETKA to validate all compatible part numbers on a VIN-level basis.

*please note – this timing assumes successful system updates in CW44.
