Binnacle House recently welcomed two new residents into services. One is a young man in his late teens who has recently completed high school. He comes to us after having completed a substance abuse program and is working toward restoring the relationship and trust with his family. In addition to family reunification, this youth will focus on vocational and collegiate
pursuits during his time with us.
The other young man does not have family connections and the state is his legal guardian. We have enrolled him through the local school district and he is looking forward to reaching his goal to earn a high school diploma. He is originally from Haiti and has been educating the staff and other youth about the culture, customs, and cuisine of Haiti. Because of the lack of family involvement,
much of his time with us will focus on enhancing independent living skills and vocational opportunities.
Every gift of support we receive helps us to guide our youth toward goal attainment.
