Annual Association Dues Deadline is January 31, 2024

Reminder that the 2024 Dues Invoices were posted to the NHMR Member Portal accounts in August. (Dues bills will NOT be mailed).The balance is due by January 31, 2024. Members who pay by the due date will receive a free CE class through NHMR in 2024.

CT Realtors has provided summaries of new and revised legislation related to real estate. You can view and download summaries by both CT Realtors and the DCP at this link on the Legal page of the CTR website.

CTR Mandates All Members Watch 4-minute Antitrust Compliance Video by Jan. 1, 2024

Please be aware of CT Realtors Mandatory Antitrust Compliance Program. All members were required to watch a short antitrust compliance video prior to January 1, 2024. If a Member has not complied with the mandate, their access to the CT Realtors Legal Hotline and the Forewarn app is suspended until the requirement has been completed.

The video will help ensure you learn that certain antitrust actions, comments and social media posts can lead to personal liability of hundreds of thousands of dollars or even jail time.

New Voluntary Prospective Parties Form

The Prospective Parties Form is a new voluntary form explaining the benefits of signing a representation agreement, the types of agency relationships that may be available to them, that compensation fees are negotiable, and information about the fair housing protected classes. You Can Still Help Fight Homelessness in CT

NHMR is participating in the CT REALTORS® Foundation 8th annual Be Homeful for the Holidays campaign which helps prevent families from becoming homeless. Funds raised are used throughout the year to provide emergency assistance to help families stay in their home and not have to enter the shelter system. AND, for every $25 donated, the CT REALTORS® Care Foundation will gift a plush Paddington bear to a child living in a shelter.

NHMR helped deliver 800+ Paddington bears and 600+ backpacks for children in 33 shelters across the state! NHMR made deliveries multiple shelters in New Haven, Meriden, Milford and Middletown.

The housing shortage has extended average shelter stays from 30 days to 230 days…so it is critical to keep our children and families from entering shelters to begin with.

DCP Information Session On New Real Estate Laws

January 10, 1:00 p.m.

The Department of Consumer Protection invites Real Estate licensees to an information session on new laws impacting the industry that go into effect April 1, 2024. Representatives from DCP will explain changes to the law and how they will be implemented. There will be an opportunity for questions at the end of the session.
