Yesterday people of all backgrounds from throughout our community took a stand to protect the things they value, like volunteerism and local nonprofits. They wore hats (click to see photos), they encouraged others to be generous on #GivingTuesday, and they helped us raise awareness about the free public services that Volunteer New York! offers at volunteernewyork.org year-round.
If you'd didn't have a chance to take part in these efforts, there's still time to support local volunteerism and "wear the hat" that has been worn by hundreds of community leaders over the last eight years.
