Presents a Call to Action
The Metro Dallas Youth Committee hosted the Youth Homeless Address: Call to Action on November 19. The event included powerful spoken word poetry by a student, poverty simulation game, presentation of the latest data on youth homelessness in Dallas, and a panel of youth sharing their experiences of homelessness. Rudick Construction Group Celebrates Subs at the Fannie C. Harris Youth Center
To commemorate the many hours their subcontractors have invested in the Fannie C. Harris Youth Center residential services renovation, Rudick Construction Group hosted a sub appreciation lunch at the center. We appreciate all of the hard work the construction team has contributed to this renovation.
High School Students Host Event
Supporting Homeless Students in Dallas
Students from New Tech High @ Coppell hosted "Win-Win", a Disney-themed trivia night to support After8. During the event, attendees learned about the Fannie C. Harris Youth Center, and proceeds from the event resulted in donations to After8. Thank you to the DECA students for hosting this fun event!

Communities Foundation of Texas Invests in Homeless Youth
After8 gratefully announces a $20,000 gift from Communities Foundations of Texas. “The support from this local foundation will make a profound difference in the lives of unsheltered Dallas ISD students and other homeless youth,” said Billy Lane, After8toEducate's interim executive director.

Swimming While Drowning at
Cara Mia Theatre Co.
Opening November 30 and running through December 15 at the Latino Cultural Center, Swimming While Drowning was written by Emilio Rodriguez and specifically adapted for this Dallas debut. After8toEducate ("After8") is a first-of-its-kind, collaborative effort to support unsheltered youth enrolled in Dallas Independent School District high schools and provide immediate support services for homeless young adults ages 14-21.
