Sign On to Urge USDA to Issue Additional Waivers
Please join No Kid Hungry Florida, along with national partners, in urging the USDA to issue additional waiver flexibilities for this school year. We are asking USDA to authorize the use of the Summer Food Service Program to help community sponsors better support the work of schools in feeding kids, especially given the possibility of widespread school closures and quarantines. We are also asking USDA to help program operators cope with ongoing supply chain challenges. We are joined in this effort by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, Afterschool Alliance, Boys & Girls Clubs of America; Feeding America; Food Research & Action Center; National Recreation and Park Association; School Nutrition Association; and YMCA of the USA.
Please review the letter and use this form to sign on your organization no later than Wednesday, September 8th at 5 PM Eastern. This opportunity is intended for national, state, and local organizations, including schools and program sponsors.

Lights on Afterschool is Fast Approaching -- Oct. 28, 2021!
Launched in October 2000, Lights On Afterschool is the only nationwide event celebrating afterschool programs and their important role in the lives of children, families and communities. The effort has become a hallmark of the afterschool movement and generates media coverage across the country each year. Our national partners, the Afterschool Alliance, organizes Lights On Afterschool to draw attention to the many ways afterschool programs support students by offering them opportunities to learn new things—such as science, community service, robotics, Tae Kwon Do and poetry—and discover new skills. The events send a powerful message that millions more kids need quality afterschool programs.
