Webinar: How to Create and Expand Afterschool Programs with COVID-19 Funding
The American Rescue Plan provides significant opportunities for local school districts to invest in comprehensive after school and summer learning programs that will help students reengage, reconnect, and recover from the COVID-19 pandemic. Even though these new funding opportunities for out-of-school time programming exist, many communities may be struggling to know how to start creating high-quality programs that meet the needs of students in their districts.
The Iowa Afterschool Alliance has been supporting before school, after school, and summer learning programs in the state since 2003 and is eager to provide assistance to communities as they explore after school and summer programs as a tool to support youth. In this webinar, schools and community partners will learn about the funding opportunities for afterschool that exist in the American Rescue Plan, the benefits of afterschool for youth, the components of a high-quality program, and how to start building a program in your own community.
