The Iowa Department of Education has opened the FY26 application cycle for the Nita M. Lowey 21st Century Community Learning Centers (21st CCLC) grant. This funding supports the creation and expansion of high-quality out-of-school time programs that provide youth with safe, enriching learning opportunities when school is not in session.
Schools, community-based organizations, faith-based groups, nonprofits, government agencies, and consortiums serving communities with at least 40 percent of students qualifying for free or reduced-price lunch are encouraged to apply. Applicants may request up to $300,000 per year in a five-year grant cycle. Funding may be used for staffing, enrichment activities, field trips, food, and other program needs.
The 21st CCLC grant is funded through the Elementary and Secondary Education Act, Title IV, Part B. Applications are due December 31st, 2025 by 4pm CT.
