Afterschool Symposium 2019
Thank you to everyone who attended, presented, supported and sponsored Prime Time's Afterschool Symposium 2019. We hope everyone in attendance left our two-day event inspired. Palm Beach State College President Ava Parker suggested to ask yourself these three questions:

  1. How will you choose to take time for your inner-self?
  2. What will you choose to do for the children that you serve?
  3. What are you choosing to do for your community?

To see all the amazing photos from the Symposium, visit our social media platforms using hashtags #sparkthemind, #changetheworld, #primetimepbc. Thank you to Frank Verney for consistently being our social media maven. You are the recipient of a $25 gift card. Please contact your quality advisor for details.

Are you providing young people with authentic, meaningful choices throughout your program? Does your program reflect the input of the youth involved? Research shows that quality programs incorporate youth input at both activity and organizational levels. This training will emphasize the importance of offering real choices and meaningful participation of youth and nurture youth leadership. This training is focused on providing meaningful choice within activities and opportunities for youth input within the youth program itself.

Afterschool Spotlight
Berkshire Elementary Afterschool Program

Berkshire Afterschool Program gave children a survey asking for ideas for new clubs, they started working towards bringing their thoughts to life. Several children asked for an art club with their school day art teacher. Berkshire Afterschool Art Club began at the beginning of the 2018-2019 school year. At the end of the school year, club members wanted to have an art exhibit; specifically, a life size replica of their original art work. After giving them some clear guidelines, the group then planned their first art exhibit. An invitation was passed out to teachers and parents, asking them to attend the Taste of Art. The event was a major success, they are already planning for next year.
