International Society for Agricultural Safety and Health holds Annual Conference | |
The 2024 International Society for Agricultural Safety and Health Conference took place June 17-20 in Portland, Ore.
AgInjuryNews data were referenced in several presentations as researchers from multiple organizations presented their work, including the University of Florida, the University of Maryland, the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and the National Children’s Center for Rural and Agricultural Safety and Health.
The conference featured more than 160 attendees, more than 130 submitted abstracts for presentations, eight panel presentations, three workshops and a participatory session hosted by the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health that focused on the National Occupational Research Agenda (NORA). The Childhood Agricultural Safety Network (CASN) also held their annual in-person meeting during the conference again this year.
Bryan Weichelt, Ph.D., chaired the 2024 conference planning committee. “Thank you so much to the passionate group who helped along the way as planning committee members, we couldn’t have done this without you,” Weichelt noted. “Serap Gorucu chaired the 2023 committee, so I had a lot of help and guidance along the way from her, and others,” he added.
Mark your calendars - the 2025 conference is heading to Portland, Maine – June 23-27.
