"Why Aren't We Doing This?"
Rev. David Wynn

Soooo, have you ever taken on a big project, prepped and ready to tackle it on your own? You just knew that your genius, superior strength, resilience, and exceptional endurance would propel you to success? Yeah, me neither. Don’t get me wrong, I’ve taken on lots of lone projects, but the motivation was usually control and rigid expectations of outcomes.

I think Jesus had a similar problem, so he dealt with his demons in the wilderness. Now he’s looking for help with his big project. His talent search and hiring process are really unconventional, low budget, and impulsive...don’t even get me started on the compensation package and career trajectory!

His job posting looked something like, “ready to let it all go for an uncertain future that depends on the openness, hospitality and inherent goodness of strangers? Training will be on the fly, learning as we go!”

Why aren’t we doing this? See you Sunday!

When someone asks us where we want to be in our lives, the last thing that occurs to us is to look down at our feet and say, 'Here, I guess, since this is where I am.'
