|Due to the holiday, offices will be closed and no deliveries will be going out (including Grocery Rescue direct deliveries - please see below). Agencies with deliveries scheduled for the 4th Thursday or Friday of the month should have already received notification regarding rescheduling for these dates. If your agency normally receives deliveries on the 4th Thursday or Friday of the month and has not received this notification, please contact our Hotline (480.291.3237) immediately.
Also, if your agency has any scheduled closures for the holiday, we urge you to contact us, especially if your agency is scheduled to receive a delivery on the day of your closure. Arrangements will need to be made to either reschedule or cancel any deliveries.
SMFBA operations will resume on Saturday, November 26, so deliveries scheduled for the 4th Saturday of the month will take place as usual.
**FOR GROCERY RESCUE AGENCIES ONLY**
- Direct Delivery Agencies - Due to our closures, agencies will not receive any direct deliveries on the 24th and 25th. Please expect all deliveries the week of Thanksgiving and those on Monday, November 28 to be heavier than normal. Please have patience when waiting for our driver to arrive.
- Pick-Up Agencies - If you haven't already communicated your holiday schedules with stores, please start having those conversations immediately. Please make alternative pick-up plans for any stores that would normally be picked up on that Thursday and Friday. If you are interested in additional opportunities for Grocery Rescue pick-ups, specifically the week of Thanksgiving, please contact Jenn Krisak (480.688.0530) or Karla Cantu (602.343.5614) directly by Friday, November 11.
Be sure to visit our new 'Agencies' webpage on the SMFBA website for closure information and other useful agency resources:
We hope this information is valuable in helping you prepare for the holiday season. We encourage you to fully notify your staff and volunteers of any distribution changes to keep everyone on the same page. Feel free to reach out if you have any questions or concerns. Thanks for all you do!
