Rhode Island’s Governor Raimondo Issues Executive Order Requiring Residents to Remain at Home

On March 28, 2020, Rhode Island’s Governor Gina Raimondo issued Executive Order 20-13, as amended by Executive Order 20-14, ordering Rhode Island residents to remain at home, unless engaging in certain approved outings, including traveling to work, traveling to obtain medical treatment, and traveling to obtain food, medicine, and other necessities.

The Orders also require all nonessential retail business to cease in-person operations. Neither legal nor insurance businesses qualify as retail businesses, and thus this order should have minimal impact on CATIC agents.

The Orders also prohibit gatherings of more than five (5) people in any public or private space and require individuals traveling into Rhode Island from another state for non-work purposes to quarantine for a period of fourteen (14) days.

The Orders take effect immediately and will be in place until April 13, 2020, unless renewed, modified, or terminated by subsequent Executive Order.
