As a courtesy to our Maine agents, we would like to pass along the Governor’s recent
Executive Order
dated March 24, 2020, entitled “An Order Regarding Essential Businesses and Operations.” The Order is in effect until April 8, 2020 and defines “Essential Businesses and Operations” to include “legal, business, professional . . . and insurance services.” It appears that our agents, whether title company, attorney or law firm, would fit into this definition of an essential business. This new Order also extends the Governor’s prior Order of March 18

restricting social gatherings and certain use of restaurants and bars through April 8, 2020.
