CONNECTICUT FRAUD ALERT


Effective immediately, prior and specific approval of the CATIC underwriting department must be obtained before insuring any transaction involving the following address:


60 READ STREET, BRIDGEPORT, CT


The property is vacant land and was listed for sale by a fraudster. The true owner contacted the listing agent to confirm it is not for sale. A contract was signed but closing did not occur thanks to the realtors and agents involved.


CATIC agents are urged to verify the identity of all parties to a transaction using trusted means, including a vetted, third-party service.

Cyber criminals are hacking email accounts and sending
messages with fake wiring instructions.
These messages are convincing and sophisticated. 
Always independently confirm wiring instructions in person or via a telephone call to a trusted and verified phone number.
