The provisions that establish limitations on evictions and restrictions on foreclosures under Chapter 65 of the Acts of 2020, An Act Providing for a Moratorium on Evictions and Foreclosures During the COVID-19 Emergency (the “Act”), are due to expire 120 days after the effective date of the Act, on August 18, 2020. Pursuant to the provisions of the Act, Governor Baker has announced his decision to extend Sections 3 and 4 and subsection (a) of Section 5 of the Act for an additional sixty (60) days, through October 17, 2020.
