Rebranding Update: Insurance Forms

Implementing Advocus National Title Insurance Company™ Forms in SoftPro

Effective September 1, 2023: ATG officially becomes Advocus National Title Insurance Company on 9/1/23. Our recent rebranding reminder and Agent Support Update included general guidelines and information regarding title insurance forms and documentation relating to transactions in the HOW AGENTS CAN GET READY section.

We want to ensure you are prepared to start using Advocus National Title Insurance Company forms in SoftPro.

1. Our Approach to Forms/Underwriter Profiles in SoftPro 

For the time being, it will be acceptable to use the standard 2021 ALTA forms collection and any 2006 endorsements not replaced in the 2021 forms collection. The use of specifically-branded forms provided by ATG is not required for SoftPro users at this time. In the coming months (when SoftPro has bandwidth to complete the required changes) ATG will provide access to rebranded forms in SoftPro’s document portal for you to download and use in SoftPro.  

If you do not already have the ALTA forms, please download them from SoftPro’s document portal. Install them into SoftPro and assign them to any applicable Profiles.

The forms to use are all available as part of SoftPro’s ALTA documents package. The ALTA Commitment for Title Insurance (7/1/2021) is the commitment form to use along with the ALTA Loan Policy (7/1/2021) and the ALTA Owner’s Policy (7/1/2021). The use of the ALTA Short Form Residential Loan Policy - Current Assessments (7/1/2021) is also acceptable for use if requested by the insured lender.

The use of these standard ALTA forms in SoftPro requires that you set up a new Underwriter contact in SoftPro. Directions on how to complete this are in section 3, below. 

2. How to Address SoftPro Files “in-Flight” on 9/1/23 

Files opened and closed 9/1/23 or after:

• Use standard ALTA forms (ALTA 2021 forms and any ALTA 2006 endorsements not replaced in the ALTA 2021 forms collection). 
• Any file templates and individual files being used must list Advocus National Title Insurance Company as the underwriter in the order contacts.(See section 3, below.)

Files opened before 9/1/23 but not yet closed:

• Use ATG forms as you are doing now and issue Change of Name Endorsement – Commitment (Advocus Form #2193-COM) with commitments and Change of Name Endorsement – Policy (Advocus Form #2193-POL) with policies. 

Files opened and closed prior to 9/1/23:

• Use ATG forms as you are doing now. 
• Do NOT need to issue a name change endorsement.

If you encounter name-related questions from lenders and customers, we welcome you to use our Change of Name Notice Letters (Advocus Form #4286-A, Form #4286-B, and Form #4286-C) and a Change of Name Addendum to Closing Disclosure/Settlement Statement (Form #4287).

Note: On a case-by-case basis, if lenders and/or customers require re-issuance of ATG commitments on Advocus paper, you may do so, but please run a later date search to bring forward the effective date before re-issuing on Advocus paper to bring the effective date as close as possible to 9/1/23.

3. Setting up a New Underwriter as a Contact in SoftPro

SoftPro’s standard ALTA documents pull in information from the individual file, including underwriter information. Enter the following information into a file template, then enter and save a new lookup code.

• Address: P.O. Box 9136, Champaign, IL 61826-9136
• Phone: (312) 372-8361
• Logo Image: PNG or SVG

Once the new underwriter contact has been entered and saved, it can be added to any other template or file by entering the lookup code.

4. SoftPro360 Integration - Policy Jackets and CPLs

Starting 9/1/23, only Advocus policy jackets and CPLs will be available in the SoftPro360 integration. If you require an ATG policy jacket – please reach out to forms@atgf.com (use @advocustitle.com after 9/1/23).
