Volunteers Wanted: Crossing Guard
We are looking for parent volunteer crossing guards to assist during the morning drop-off. These volunteers will help our students safely cross Lafond Ave., while also helping keep traffic moving, from 7:30-8:00 AM. Ideally, volunteers will commit to a specific day or days of the week to assist. If you are interested in volunteering as a crossing guard, please contact Karl Hendrickson .
50 Acts of Kindness
At Friday's Virtue Assembly on Kindness, Mr. Adkins defined how this virtue is more than what society regards as “being nice.” In our Education in Virtue Program developed by our Dominican Sisters, Kindness is defined as “expressing genuine concern about the well-being of others and anticipating their needs.”

After considering the examples of St. Martin de Porres and The Good Samaritan in Jesus’ parable, Mr. Adkins offered a challenge to all students: to try one of the 50 Acts of Kindness (a list he and other faculty developed) each day. Students can get this list of “50 Acts of Kindness” from their teacher or pick up a copy by Mr. Adkins office.
Experience Christendom Summer Program
Saint Agnes School has been given three FULL TUITION SCHOLARSHIPS ($500 value each) for current Juniors to attend the Experience Christendom Summer Program. Students would need to pay for and provide their own travel, but tuition for the program would be covered. Christendom College is a Catholic liberal arts college in Virginia, recommended by the Newman Guide to Choosing a Catholic College.

During this highly acclaimed program, students spend their mornings taking a variety of liberal arts classes (Philosophy, English, History, and Theology). After Mass and lunch, students spend their afternoons and evenings enjoying a number of recreational and social events. Activities generally include: canoeing on the Shenandoah River, hiking and cooking-out on Skyline Drive, swing and contra dancing, singing over a bonfire, bowling, participating in a talent show, and attending a debate and an Irish barn dance. Visit their website for more information.

Please contact Mrs. Kemp by February 20th if you are interested in receiving one of these scholarships. We will keep a list of students who are interested and know they can commit to attending the program and if there are more than three interested, we may request further application materials.
