From the Headmaster
Dear Families,

We continue to work hard to button up the 2019-20 school year! Our Senior Tributes went well last Thursday, and our Baccalaureate Mass takes place this Wednesday (6/17) in the Saint Agnes Church. Bishop Cozzens will preside at the Mass, and we are looking forward to having one final, culminating experience for our senior class.

In addition, we have been working to form a Saint Agnes Reopening Committee . A special thank you to all from our community who have volunteered—there were 3-4 times as many who volunteered as we could accommodate. Thank you to everybody who was willing to help out our school! The committee will include the following people: Ms. MiMi Johnson, Ms. Jennifer Loch, Dr. Maria Gorden, Ms. Lynda True, Ms. Melisha Carroll, Dr. David Deavell, Mr. Mark Chlebeck, Dr. David Shrake, and Mr. Dan Cates.  All are current Aggie parents from a broad spectrum of families we serve—of the nine, two are medical doctors, one is a full time nurse, one is an infectious disease specialist, and two are Saint Agnes teachers. We will begin work tomorrow afternoon and continue weekly until we have a plan to present to the community. We will keep you informed as June wears on, and we will let you know by July 15th what our plan is for returning safely to school on Tuesday, August 25th (as noted on updated updated printable calendar below). Thank you for your patience as we continue to work toward that goal!

Finally, I wanted to announce summer hours for our main office. As with past summers, our main office will be open from 8:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday, from June 15th through August 7th. If you haven’t yet returned all your materials (or picked up those materials that we have for you), please do call our main office, and stop by during summer office hours.

Since this is our last regular Monday Newsletter, I wish you a wonderful, restful, prayerful summer! May God bless all you do this summer to refresh you and your beautiful children.

May Our Lady, Queen of Peace, pray for us!

MCC Action Alert
The USCCB has asked for a specific push at the local level to our congressional representatives regarding aid for Catholic schools in any upcoming federal stimulus package. Currently, Congress is negotiating the next phase of COVID-19 relief funding. The House passed the HEROES Act on May 15, and the Senate is beginning to put together its own version of the next relief bill. This is important because the HEROES Act excludes almost all non-public school students from eligibility for its emergency services and rescinds much of the emergency relief for non-public schools that was enacted through the CARES Act
MCC has sent out an action alert to their Catholic Advocacy Network (CAN). P lease see this link for more information.
