Narcissism, Drive, Ego... How far will a young actress go for the lead role?

Theatrikos Theatre Co. brings the aggressively outrageous musical "Ruthless" to Flagstaff July 27-Aug.12 at the Doris Harper-White Community Playhouse in historic downtown Flagstaff.

The story revolves around Judy, a naive 1950s housewife, and her adorable but sociopathic daughter, Tina, who will do anything to get the lead role in her school play-including murdering the leading lady!

Patrons enjoying the show opening night will be treated to a reception afterward featuring food donated by The McMillan and Nomads' Global Lounge

FAREWELL...AND THANK YOU

Dear Friends,

null
After five rewarding years with Theatrikos Theatre Company, three and a half of which I've served as Executive Director, it is with a heavy heart that I announce that I'll be officially stepping down at the end of July to pursue other opportunities.  The organization will be left in very capable hands with my mentor Stan Sutherland taking over as Interim Executive Director, to be followed by a permanent replacement by the end of the year. Our team has never been better, with Joe, Audrey, Larry, Malene, Becky, Bracken, Tracie, John, and many others expertly running their specific areas, and a fantastic board under the leadership of President Al White. Working with this amazing group has truly been one of the great pleasures of my life.

As I work on this transition, I've taken the time to think about the accomplishments that I'm most proud of. Working with Areya Kugler, Lisa Coe, and Joe Maniglia to make Stage Buddies a reality really stands out, as does leading the short-lived but very fun Playwright Café program for emerging writers. Also, watching each year as my close friends are nominated and often awarded honors like the Viola Awards and Joe's Governor's Arts Award has been extremely rewarding. Overall, getting to know hundreds of patrons, volunteers, donors, and other community members has been the best part of this job.

My intention from the very beginning was to do what I could to set others up for success, and a major part of this has been knowing when to step out of the way. With things going very well artistically, financially, and in terms of team morale, I feel that this is the right time. I am extremely thankful that I have been lucky enough to be given the opportunity to play a small part in the on-going success of this amazing and important organization, and I am certain that the best years for Theatrikos have yet to come!

Sincerely,
Drew
