Social Media Thunderclap

Join AgeOptions in conjunction with Forefront to participate in a Social Media Thunderclap! Thursday, April 16 from 2-3 pm. To participate, use this Thunderclap social media toolkit from Forefront, or share or retweet posts from AgeOptions. Remember to include the website, www.my2020Census.gov to get counted and hashtags #MakeILCount, #ILCountMeIn2020, #ILOlderAdultsCount.

Check Your Mail Flyer -AgeOptions has a new flyer to encourage people who have not yet completed the Census to check their mail. Please use this flyer April 8-22.

Upcoming Calls
AgeOptions is hosting an open call for professionals in the Aging Network to call in with questions about the 2020 Census or their outreach efforts.

On Monday, the Census Bureau announced updates to their operational schedule. Those updates can be found HERE . Highlights from Operational Adjustments include:
  • Self-Response Period (respond online or by phone) extended until October 31
  • Non-response Follow-up (NRFU) when Census takers will interview households in person: this was originally starting in mid-May, but has now been pushed to August 11 – October 31
  • Mobile Questionnaire Assistance where there would be Census takers in community locations needs further review and has not been rescheduled.
  • Group Quarters Enumeration
  • Many group quarters are already responding via the e-Response enumeration option – extended to September 3
  • In-Person Group Quarters Enumeration July 1 – September 3

  • Mailing Schedule-Paper Form
The U.S. Census Bureau is currently mailing a paper questionnaire to people who have not yet completed their Census (see the mailing schedule on page 2: HERE )
  • For most people, this is the only time the paper form will be mailed to them. Certain Census tracts received a paper form in the initial mailing that went out March 12. When Census takers are in the community, they will also leave a paper form behind. At any time, people can complete online or by phone. 
  • Continue to use our flyer (in resource section above) to encourage people who have not yet completed the Census to check their mail.
