Implementing and Expanding Virtual Programming for Older Adults


Given the fact that virtual programming is here to stay, a new manual from engAGED: The National Resource Center for Engaging Older Adults provides strategies that organizations in the Aging Network can use to enhance or implement new virtual programs for older adults. The manual was developed by engAGED in partnership with Older Adults Technology Services (OATS) from AARP. Both the Aging and Disability Business Institute and engAGED are administered by USAging.

The Future of Telehealth


In a new white paper, the National Committee for Quality Assurance identifies barriers individuals may experience that prevent them from receiving telehealth services. The white paper also makes recommendations for specific ways to promote equitable access to telehealth, including tailoring telehealth to individual preferences and needs, and leveraging digital technologies to promote equitable care delivery.

Equity and Aging in the Community


A new study from the AP-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research gauges sentiment among older adults about how prepared they feel to age in place in their homes and communities. The study found that older adults with lower incomes, those living in rural areas and Black or Hispanic older adults have more reservations about the services that support aging in their communities than do older adults from other populations.
