Improving Housing Stability Through Health Care Contracts


The Aging and Disability Business Institute is hosting a Pre-Conference Intensive at USAging’s 47th Annual Conference and Tradeshow. The session, “Improving Housing Stability Through Health Care Contracts” (PC02), occurs from 8:30 AM to 12:00 PM CT on Sunday, July 10 in Austin, TX. Presenters will discuss how AAAs and other CBOs can contract with health care entities to serve a fuller range of individuals’ needs regarding housing services. Funding Available for Addressing Social Determinants of Health


The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has released a notice of a funding opportunity for developing multisector action plans to address the social determinants of health. Up to 40 awardees will collaborate with multisectoral partners to develop plans to reduce health disparities related to chronic disease within state, local, territorial and tribal jurisdictions. Applications are due by July 8, and optional Letters of Intent are due tomorrow, June 8.

The BUILD Health Challenge 4.0


The de Beaumont Foundation’s BUILD Health Challenge is now accepting applications for its fourth cohort. Communities with ideas that address health disparities are invited to apply to be part of a cohort that will create a program to advance health equity and racial justice by centering multi-sector and community-driven partnerships. The deadline for applications is June 30, 2022.

Strategies to Address the Social Determinants of Health in Medicaid Beneficiaries


As state Medicaid programs address the social determinants of health, they often do so in partnership with other government agencies and CBOs. A new issue brief from the Medicaid and CHIP Payment and Access Commission (MACPAC) describes the primary mechanisms state Medicaid programs can use to deliver and finance interventions related to the social determinants of health and considers the statutory and regulatory limits on the use of these funds.
