Indiana Farmer Kip Tom
Visits Trump Tower
Kip Tom was spotted at Trump Tower last Thursday as the search for an ag secretary continues.  Kip farms in Kosciusko County and recently lost a GOP primary bid to represent the 3rd Congressional District.  He has also been a member of the Trump Ag Advisory team.   A head of the meeting, Kip confirmed to the Fort Wayne Journal Gazette that he was under consideration for ag secretary. Other sources, however, suggest that his meeting might have been related to a different slot, perhaps as a special assistant to the president on ag issues - a position once held by fellow Hoosier Chuck Conner in the George W. Bush administration.  The transition team did not alert the media to Kip's visit, something that has been done with other candidates for secretary.  This week's Weekly Washington Report has some additional information on the continued search for the next USDA Secretary.
