Letter from The President
Dear ACI Members,

Fall is my favorite season. The temperatures begin to cool. Starbucks unleashes the pumpkin spice trove. And families rally around treasured traditions. Fall is a season of change and renewed energy. Changes is a big part of being successful. That doesn't mean it is easy. It requires grit - reflection - resilience.

ACI is currently in a season of change and preparation for 2018. The changes that you are seeing or will see are the result of many conversations and many miles on the road. In the last several months, I have spent as many days as possible at members' businesses to talk about what is working, what isn't, and how ACI can do better. I then share those insights with ACI staff, the board, and committee chairs to evaluate and discuss relevant changes.

As a result, member-led committees are working hard on 2018 programming that incorporates all the feedback. For example, the policy committee has met several times to discuss our state and federal agendas. (Thank you for your responses on the recent government affairs survey to make that possible!) The events committee looks forward to seeing you at the annual Expo & Conference: All Systems Go! - 2018 ACI is all about you! We will cover everything from making your purpose work for you to regulatory changes on the horizon. Multiple committees are joining together to plan regional meetings for next year to educate and provide more networking opportunities for Indiana agribusinesses.

It is an exciting time to lead ACI! Thank you for the opportunity to serve.

Happy Harvest,

Tax Reform Teed Up
Republican leaders in Congress and the Trump administration on Wednesday released a more detailed outline of their tax reform plan. The outline, accessible HERE, includes lower personal and corporate tax rates. While details are scarce, the outline does signal that interest deductibility will be "partially limited." However, the NGFA will continue to advocate in support of retaining the interest deduction, which member companies use to finance ongoing operations, real estate and equipment.  ACI lobbyist, Mark Shublak, attended President Trump's speech outlining his tax reform plan at the Indiana Farm Bureau building on Wednesday.

Please contact Mark Shublak at or Lesa Dietrick at if you have any questions.
