Indiana Agribusiness PAC
Needs Your Support
Over the past few years, the Agribusiness Council of Indiana has been successful in advocating for better policies and legislation on behalf of our members.  However, as we all know, it's getting more difficult to connect with the legislators who do not understand the needs of our agribusinesses.  Therefore, it is critical for our members to become engaged in the Indiana Agribusiness PAC so we can continue to make progress at the Statehouse on various issues.  Please learn more about our PAC and how to contribute by clicking HERE to read the letter from PAC Chair Harold Coopers, Premier Ag, and PAC Treasurer Jay Shininger, McAllister's Machinery Co.
ACI Supports Habitat for Humanity at
2017 Indiana State Fair
Each year, Habitat for Humanity uses the State Fair as a platform for the building of two homes to be donated to local families.  ACI members ADM and Barnes and Thornburg sponsored workers for two separate days with other ACI members "lending a hand".  This year's ACI Emerging Professionals Leadership Program was well-represented by Harry Wilmoth of The Andersons and Alex French of Barnes and Thornburg.  Thanks to these ACI members for their community involvement!

FDA Announces Delay in FSMA Animal Food Facility Inspections
Source:  NGFA
The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) announced Aug. 10 that it will delay until the fall of 2018 inspections of the hazard analysis and risk-based preventive controls requirements implemented under the Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA).  The announcement of the one-year delay from the upcoming Sept. 18, 2017 compliance date in place for large animal food facilities (facilities that are part of a company with 500 or more employees) was made by FDA Center for Veterinary Medicine Director Dr. Steve Solomon during the opening day of the Association of American Feed Control Officials (AAFCO) annual meeting in Bellevue, Wash.
