Farm Adaptation Innovator Program (FAIP)
Round 1 of FAIP is now accepting Expressions of Interest until October 12, 2018.

The P rogram  seeks to build adaptive capacity and encourage the adoption of effective farm practices to help mitigate impacts related to climate change by supporting projects that:
  • Promote innovation in farm practices, approaches and technologies that support climate change adaptation
  • Demonstrate farm practices that reduce weather related production risks, and identify new production opportunities
  • Develop informational and knowledge sharing resources and support increased sector capacity to support adaptation

Strategic Outreach Initiative
Strategic Outreach Initiative (SOI)funding is targeted at industry activities identified by Ministry of Agriculture staff as contributing to and improving the competitiveness, innovation and resilience of B.C.’s agriculture and agrifoods sector. The funding is intended to facilitate knowledge and technical transfer and strategically support B.C.’s producers and processors to innovate and adapt to changing environmental, production, and market conditions

The upcoming fall committee meeting dates are September 6th, October 10th and November 14 th   Applications should be submitted at least 2 months in advance of event. Downlaod the application here .

Food Safety Workshop with FoodMetrics Lab
October 19, 4:00 - 6:00 PM, 407 5th St .
FoodMetrics Laboratory in Courtenay, the first community food analysis lab of its type in western Canada, is opening its doors for an open house and food analysis workshop on October 19th. Join us from 4pm-6pm to learn about the importance of analysis in food safety and the role FoodMetrics will play in the food and agricultural industry of the Comox Valley. This free forum will feature discussions and hands-on demonstrations.
