Now it's easier than ever to directly sponsor a camper!
About 1 in 3 Gales Creek Campers need financial assistance to attend camp.

Despite being one of the lowest-cost resident summer camps in the United States, even among non-medical camps, Gales Creek Camp subsidized almost $60,000 in camp fees in 2018. That's only possible because of donors large and small.

For those who want to see exactly who benefits from your donation, check out the new Sponsor a Camper page on our website, where campers create their own web pages and tell their own stories. You can donate directly to help cover their camp fee instantly.

It's hard enough growing up with type 1 diabetes. Financial difficulties compound the challenges. Gales Creek Camp is the place were kids with type 1 diabetes can forget all that and just be kids. Please help them get to camp by visiting their pages here .
Camp Cleanup Day and Open House is just around the corner! Join us at camp June 1, 2019.
Every year on the first Saturday in June, we wake camp up from the long, wet winter. This year it's June 1, 2019!

We've created a list of specific jobs so you can sign up for whatever works best for you. We have everything from washing windows to organizing arts supplies. Click here to sign up for 2019!

Without wonderful volunteers, it wouldn't be possible to complete all the work necessary each year to keep Gales Creek Camp maintained and safe for the kids who need it so much! Thank you!

We'll start at 9am sharp and work until about noon
Then it's time for the Summer Kickoff Open House. New families, veteran families, and all supporters are welcome! Families and visitor will join our volunteers for an outdoor lunch (including veggie and gluten-free options), with plenty of no/low-carb beverages.

Save the Date: Adult Camp is August 24-25, 2019.
Gales Creek Camp's fantastic weekend event for adults affected by type 1 diabetes (and their family and friends) includes the authentic camp experience with some adult twists, including workshops on living with T1D and a gourmet dinner with seriously good wine.

The event is a fundraiser to support Gales Creek Camp Foundation's mission to ensure all children with type 1 diabetes have access to camp. Whether you're a GCC alum ready to give back or you were diagnosed with T1D as an adult and want to meet others in our community, we hope you can make it!

Registration opens in May.

Some other cool stuff for T1D families
Gales Creek Camp is part of a network of opportunities for kids, families, and individuals with type 1 diabetes. Check out these events from our friends at Chris Dudley Foundation and Mama I'm Low.
Mama I'm Low is a T1D support organization in Eugene, OR. They host monthly meetings, special events, and awesome outings for kids and families affected by type 1 diabetes.

On April 3, they are hosting Moira McCarthy Stanford, author of Raising Teens with Diabetes: A Parent Survival Guide and The Everything Parents Guide to Diabetes . The discussion will center on transitioning to living independently for those young people getting ready to move out of the house.
