Dear MPCSD Parents/Guardians,

As you can no doubt smell in the air, the fires in Sonoma County are impacting the air down here in Menlo Park/Atherton. MPCSD has  resources and information available  regarding air quality's impact on our schools.

While the air smells quite smoky, according to  airnow.gov , the Sunday evening air is in the "good" zone. Monday morning, the prediction is that air quality will be in the "moderate" zone. Per our protocol, informed by the California Department of Education's  Guidelines for Schools and Wildfire Smoke , MPCSD will conduct normal activities.

Students with sensitive respiratory symptoms will be monitored. Should your child have a sensitive respiratory system and you wish him/her to stay indoors, please contact the school's front office to request accommodation.

Should the air quality change beyond the moderate zone any time this week, MPCSD will follow the guidelines described in our  Air Quality FAQ page
