Policy win: Strengthening Alberta’s justice system

Amendments would allow more claims to be dealt with through the provincial court, which uses simplified and cost-effective processes and is located in 72 communities throughout the province. The last time the civil claims limit for the provincial court was increased was in 2014.

The proposed improvements will also allow future increases to the civil claims limit in the provincial court. Currently, the limit is $50,000. Amendments will permit government to adjust the limit by regulation up to a maximum of $200,000.

Policy win: Supporting affordable housing projects

In 2021, Alberta’s government introduced a 10-year strategy to expand affordable housing called Stronger Foundations. This strategy puts Alberta on track to increase affordable housing units by 25,000. Launching the Affordable Housing Partnership Program is a key step to ensuring housing is accessible for Albertans across the province.

The new Affordable Housing Partnership Program is open for applications to help public, non-profit and private sectors work together to build and deliver affordable housing for seniors, families, individuals with low incomes, developmental disabilities, physical challenges, victims of violence, and others.

As part of the Davis Auto Group, they are a third- generation family business that has been serving Albertans for over 50 years. The Davis Auto Group came to Airdrie in 2012 when they purchased Airdrie Motors and began Davis Chevrolet GMC Buick. They realize that a successful business is all about the people whether it's their customers or their team. Over the last decade they have created a culture within their team centered around the values of integrity, family, loyalty, community, and trust.

At Davis Chevrolet GMC Buick, their goal is to deliver a world-class sales and service experience through their Five Pillars of Success;

  • Customer First, Always!
  • Have Urgency in All They Do
  • Always be Promoting Their Company Through Their Actions and Words
  • Empower Their People to Own it and Make Things Right for Their Clients
  • Seek Continuous Improvement, Be Better Everyday

Their business offers sales and leasing of new Chevrolet, GMC and Buick models as well as Certified Pre-Owned Used Vehicles. In addition, they offer an express oil change lane, full mechanical services, a tire center along with genuine GM parts and accessories. They are proud to be part of the Airdrie business community and would appreciate any opportunity to be of service to its residents or local businesses. Thank you.
As an Alberta-based company, FortisAlberta touches the lives of many people as a neighbour and business partner. They deliver the electricity that empowers Albertans to succeed. They keep the power on, not just because it’s their job, but because they care about the people they serve. They are reliable, honest and dedicated to their work because our customers and communities matter to them.
At FortisAlberta, they strive to strengthen their established industries, boost emerging sectors and integrate new technologies. They’re pleased to be a part of energizing Alberta. Whether through building infrastructure to provide a safe and reliable system or modernizing their grid to provide real-time restoration, reducing operating response efforts to the 240 communities they serve. Many of their 1,100 employees live and work in these communities, with close to 300 in Airdrie, which lends to an enhanced sense of pride and responsibility in maintaining a system of more than 127,000 kilometres of power lines, and over 100,000 streetlights.
They believe in building strong partnerships and supporting their customers and communities to power their homes, farms and businesses. They are committed to making improvements to their distribution system and practices to improve reliability and affordability. They’re here to support their customers and their neighbours in the journey to build an economically prosperous, diverse and sustainable Alberta.
The Kalix Legacy Foundation of Airdrie was created to honour Kalix Langenau’s dream of helping out financially challenged families cover the cost of program and training fees, as well as equipment costs, so that every child has the same opportunity that he had to participate in all sports programs offered right here in Airdrie. They also provide funding for kids who have lost a parent or sibling, because they know first-hand about the mental and financial hardships faced during such unfortunate times.

They can cover anywhere from 50% to 100% of the registration fees and equipment costs depending on the program or training, the applicants financial situation and on funds available. All of their funding is raised through sponsorship, donations, and fundraising. They are proud to say that the funds they raise stay local and support local youth.

It is their greatest wish that Kalix’s legacy continue to live on through the youth helped by this foundation.
Vitreous Glass has been operating a waste glass recycling business in Airdrie since 1995 and is a proud supporter of many local organizations and programs throughout our community.

Vitreous collects 90,000 tonnes of post-consumer waste glass annually, which is cleaned, crushed and sold to three large fibreglass insulation manufacturers who use it as a raw material in their production facilities.
Vitreous understands a safe, educated and supportive community is the key to a satisfied citizenry and a thriving economy. Vitreous considers these four organizations to be the pillars of support in Airdrie and they are proud, long-term contributors to their causes:
  • Airdrie Food Bank
  • Airdrie Boys and Girls Club
  • Airdrie Public Library
  • Community Links
We look forward to seeing our members at future events!
