AireSpring Receives SOC 2 Type II + HIPAA Certification, Demonstrating Data Security & Privacy for

Enterprise Customers

We’re proud to announce AireSpring’s recent achievement of SOC 2 Type II + Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) certification. This certification affirms AireSpring’s dedication to protecting customer data, upholding the highest industry standards for security and privacy, and meeting the needs of enterprises across diverse industries, including healthcare.

The SOC 2 Type II certification process evaluates an organization’s adherence to rigorous Trust Services Criteria (TSC) set by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA). This includes key areas like security, availability, processing integrity, confidentiality, and privacy. AireSpring’s certification demonstrates the company’s robust measures for data protection, including encryption controls, intrusion detection, user access authentication, and disaster recovery, ensuring customer trust and operational excellence.

Demonstrating HIPAA compliance further underscores AireSpring’s commitment to safeguarding sensitive health information. This certification ensures we meet stringent national standards for data security, providing healthcare organizations and related industries with confidence in the secure handling of their protected health information (PHI).

“Achieving SOC 2 Type II + HIPAA represents a significant milestone for AireSpring,” said Avi Lonstein, CEO of AireSpring. “It underscores our dedication to safeguarding our customers’ data and reflects our ongoing investment in industry-leading practices for security and compliance. These certifications solidify our role as a reliable partner for multi-location enterprises seeking secure, compliant IT and communications solutions.”

To begin, please tell us a little about yourself, your career in

telecom/technology, and your agency.

I've been in the telecom space, specifically on the carrier side, for 25 years. My previous positions include Account Executive roles at Spirit Communications, Segra, and CenturyLink, all located in Greensboro, North Carolina.

Throughout that time, I’ve worked with a range of products including Connectivity, Cloud/Data Center services, Managed Security, SD-WAN, and now Secure Access Service Edge (SASE). This past year, I became a technology advisor and joined Integrated Technologies, along with three other industry veterans, to start a sales division for the company and the experience has been enlightening and rewarding.

What’s great about Integrated Technologies is that we design and advise customers on right-sized solutions, helping them integrate and manage network technologies. We have an internal division that provides the necessary wiring, cameras, and access control for physical security as well as an in-house managed services provider (MSP) division, so we’re able to fully support customers.

An important part of the entire process is our ability to partner in the channel and work with organizations like AireSpring for carrier services and other add-ons that are crucial in today’s technology landscape.

What do you like about working with AireSpring?

I knew of AireSpring as a competitor on the carrier side. When I was working on the carrier side, I heard from clients who expressed how happy they were with the service they had received from AireSpring, including the quality of customer support and the responsive ticketing system. It sounded to me like AireSpring had everything that one could want, so as soon as I got into the agent world, I was already looking forward to engaging with the company and it's been fantastic.

"I have several clients who use AIreCONTROL, AireSpring’s AI-powered IT service management (ITSM) platform. This really differentiates AireSpring from the rest of the industry---other similar companies don’t have the systems to provide customers with the ability to monitor and manage their networks from a single pane of glass in the way that AireSpring does."

The thing I've most liked is how quickly and professionally AireSpring operates. When we make deals, we want them done in less than 30 days, so I need that rapid turnaround, and AireSpring provides that.

The fact that AireSpring includes proactive network monitoring along with support is key for my customers. This really differentiates AireSpring from the rest of the industry---other similar companies don’t have the systems to provide customers with the ability to monitor and manage their networks from a single pane of glass in the way that AireSpring does.

What would you say is the secret to being a successful technology advisor in today’s marketplace?

Building relationships along with the confidence of knowing that you can become a true trusted advisor to your customers. It’s important to establish trust with folks in the technology field because a lot of people stay in the industry throughout their career, and they’ll remember if you took care of them and didn’t try to sell them something that wasn’t a good fit. Honesty goes a long way and always looking out for what's best for your client is paramount.

"Honesty goes a long way and always looking out for what's best for your client is paramount."

Overall, you want to serve your customers by educating them, not only about the solutions, but through sharing your history of providing that solution to other customers. You also want to offer your insight into the design and implementation process and give them the peace of mind they’re looking for beyond simply providing technical information they could find elsewhere.

What do you foresee happening in the channel in 2025 (or what is the “next big thing” or “things” you think people should be aware of or get involved in, etc.)?

Data centers are not going away, even if it seems like the demand might be shrinking. I’ve found that people still like to have control over their data and have a presence in data centers, so it’s likely opportunity exists there.

Along with data centers, security and the proliferation of threats we need to protect against is going to continue to grow. With security’s ever-changing environment, we're always trying to stay one step ahead of the next threat. Some are a little bit more sophisticated than they were just last year, so it’s important to look at the latest solutions to find ways to help customers bolster their security efforts. We’re really focused on educating our customers to enhance their security posture and prepare for the future.

" We’re really focused on educating our customers to enhance their security posture and prepare for the future."

What are some of your interests outside of telecom?

My main hobby is mountain biking. I've been mountain biking for 30 years, and these days I’ve been biking with a local group. We sign up for races and we ride a couple times a week. I live in a neighborhood close to the local trails, so we ride there as well as other places like Virginia. There are mountain bike trails all over this part of the country, it’s great.

I also have a cabin in the mountains that I like to escape to with my wife. It’s two hours away from our house, so we can get to the high country where it's always 10 degrees cooler in the summer.

Tell us briefly about your professional background and your career prior to joining AireSpring.

I bring 16 years of experience in the telecom industry to AireSpring, with a robust foundation in both operations and client relations. For 10 of those years, I ran my own agency, Vertical Network Solutions, a carrier-neutral voice and data consulting firm focused on helping businesses design MPLS and SIP networks, navigate carrier selection, and deliver project management and long-term support. There, I served as a partner managing various telecom projects and building strong relationships with clients. My previous roles include National Channel Manager at CenturyLink, Enterprise Account Executive at Integra Telecom, and Sales Executive at Xerox.

My deep understanding of the industry, combined with hands-on experience in sales, customer service, and strategic planning, has allowed me to thrive in a competitive market. I joined AireSpring to leverage my extensive background and contribute to the company’s growth and success in the telecom sector.

Tell us a bit about your role at AireSpring and how you support our partners.

At AireSpring, my role focuses on fostering strong relationships with our partners and ensuring they have the tools and resources needed to succeed. I leverage my 16 years of telecom experience to provide guidance and support, helping partners navigate our products, services, and solutions. By offering tailored advice, addressing challenges, and ensuring smooth communication, I work closely with our partners to help them achieve their business goals. My deep knowledge of the telecom landscape enables me to identify opportunities for growth and assist partners in delivering the best solutions to their clients, all while ensuring a seamless and efficient partnership with AireSpring.

What do you like about working at AireSpring?

What I truly enjoy about working at AireSpring is the company’s commitment to innovation and its customer-first approach. The collaborative culture here makes it easy to work alongside talented professionals who are dedicated to delivering exceptional service and cutting-edge solutions. AireSpring’s focus on flexibility and support for both partners and customers allow me to use my experience to have a meaningful impact. I also appreciate the strong sense of trust and transparency within the company, which makes it an enjoyable and motivating environment to be a part of. The opportunity to contribute to AireSpring’s growth and success while helping our partners thrive is incredibly rewarding.

Tell us about your hobbies/activities outside of work.

Outside of work, I enjoy staying active and spending time with my family. I love hiking and exploring the outdoors, as it helps me recharge and clear my mind. I also have a passion for decorating and design so in my spare time I help my clients as a certified interior decorator. Soccer has been a very big part of my life, as I played and then coached a club for 10 years. Additionally, I am a dog mom, and I love every minute I get with my fur friends, especially in our backyard as they also love the swimming pool. When I’m not outdoors or decorating something, I cherish family time, whether it’s traveling or simply enjoying a quiet evening together.
