With the air finally bringing us a cool breeze, we are excited that Fall is upon us. Soon the leaves will be changing and the days will be shorter, the ghouls and ghosts will be out and about, and before we know it, we're eating turkey and then WOW It's the Christmas season.
We would like to congratulate our "Employee of the Month" Jake Oskey!
During the month of September we had our Trade Show team hard at work attending numerous shows including MinExpo 2021, Pack Expo, Traffic and Conversion, Label Expo, the Parking Show, The Utility Expo and quite a few more!

Airways providing expedited services when the need is critical!
On August 29th, the 16th anniversary of Hurricane Katrina, another disaster took place in the form of hurricane Ida. A hurricane that when making landfall was recorded as the second most damaging hurricane in the U.S., only behind Katrina in 2005.
During the previous week Airways had been working in conjunction with customers and vendors in preparation for Ida and jumped into action to begin relief efforts for our customers and their industries that were in the path of Ida. Airways was tasked with providing expedited services in the form of charter aircraft, full truckload, sprinter vans, air freight, and hot shots of all sizes in relief efforts for the people affected and for industries such as electric and power facilities and manufacturing plants hit by Ida.
With 24/7 service capabilities, Airways, alongside our sales agents and an army of vendors, provided around the clock service and reporting to the shippers and customers, in the affected region and nationwide, a push that lasted well over the next two-week period. This type of emergency response service is what Airways was built upon and continue to provide daily around the clock to our customers throughout the world.

MinExpo 2021 Success!
Five years and a global pandemic later, Airways Freight’s Trade Show team was happy to finally get to go back to work as an Official Carrier and Customs Broker for what is considered the World’s largest mining industry event, MinExpo 2021!
MinExpo occurring every four years, was postponed from its 2020 planned date, to September 13-15 of 2021. With so much time having elapsed between events, it was imperative to the Mining Association, that the show to go as planned. This event considered by many to be a show that could restore confidence in the live event industry.
With over 1400 exhibitors, and the majority of the Las Vegas Convention Center space used, the show went off successfully and we were proud to be a part their success. Many thanks to the show producer Hall Erikson, for allowing us to partner with them as an official and share in the success of MinExpo 2021!

A little Halloween Trivia!
Halloween is an annual holiday celebrated each year on October 31st! Originating as an ancient Celtic festival of Samhain (End of Summer), people would wear costumes to ward off spirits. In the eighth century, Pope Gregory III designated November 1st as a time to honor all saints, soon after All Saints Day incorporated some of the traditions of Samhain. The evening before All Saints day was known as All Hallows Eve, which later became Halloween.
The movie Halloween was made in 21 days in 1978 on a very limited budget.
It was shot in the Spring and they used fake Autumn leaves. The mask worn
by Michael Meyers was actually William Shatner's face mold, painted white.
The character played by Jamie Lee Curtis, Laurie Strode was named after
John Carpenter's first girlfriend. And last by not least, the storyline is set in
Illinois, but all of the cars had California license plates on them.
