Simchat Beit Hashoeva Sukkah Party
The entire Akiva Family is invited to a Sukkah Party in the beautiful House of Jacob Sukkah (16-13 92 Ave. SW) on Thursday September 27th at 5:30 PM. A light supper will be served at 5:30 PM followed by a Magic show for kids and Stories in the Sukkah by Rabbi Miller for adults. We hope to see you there!

Updated Akiva Sukkah!
Thank you to Enrique for building a new support structure for the Akiva Sukkah! Thank you to the Segal family for sponsoring the renovations. Thank you to Rabbi Goldenberg for  helping to design the structure. Thank you to Akiva Alumni Eliezer Simcha Greenwald and Sam Virine for putting up the Schach! The Sukkah is open to the community on all days of the Chag. You are welcome to come and use it! It can be accessed on the Chag from the playground and during school hours through the school building.

We were supposed to be assembling our math kits. 
Decided to try them on as hats first!

5 warm-up questions ... turned into an hour long exploration of math concepts.

Grade 5-8 Joint Art Project
Ms Filewich and Ms Waseem conspired to get their students together for an art project. 21 students and 2 teachers had a great time making Duct Tape Wallets. The cooperation observed was inspiring. An example of collaboration at its finest.

Snake Plants
If you were one of our helpful snake plant sitters over the summer, please be sure to return the plant  to the  office for it to be returned to it's designated class room for the kids to enjoy.
Terry Fox Run
Our Terry Fox Run will take place on Thursday Sept. 27th.All Students in K- Grade 8 are encouraged to bring a Toonie to donate to the Terry Fox Foundation. Our goal is to raise $110. If we do, we will have a Jersey day on October 5th!
Ride from School
Mrs. Tali Keselman is looking for a ride for her son Adam from school every day. They live in Cedarbrae.  If you are able to help for any day of the week please email her at or call 403-397-6342.
