        Weekly Legislative Spotlight

From the Desk of the Council President

Hello Joan,

Welcome to Issue 14 of Akron City Council's Legislative Spotlight.

To our new subscribers, we are so excited that you have decided to join us!

Weekly, we share highlights from the Council's legislative agenda from the previous Monday's Committee and Council meetings. We also feature the definitions of and information about commonly used terms and acquaint you with council-related facts.

We are so excited that this week's issue features our new logo. The Akron City Council logo is a trademark of the Akron City Council. It was designed in September 2022. It includes the legislative body’s name (Akron City Council), ten (10) stars representing each Ward in the city of Akron, and seventy-three (73) dots.

Adopted by City Council at this past Monday's meeting, December 5th, 2022. The establishment of the Council's unique brand is part of a larger strategic effort to extend Akron City Council's reach and increase constituent engagement.

We look forward to the launch of Akron City Council's Facebook page in the near future.

Please stay connected and abreast of the legislative agenda of Akron City Council.

We believe the information shared in each week's Legislative Spotlight will educate, empower and liberate you to become increasingly engaged with your City Council in making Akron a better place to live for all of its residents.

Happy Reading!

                                                         Sincerely,

                                                              Margo Sommerville

                                 Council President

                                                   Ward 3 Council Member
