Save Our Citrus
The Asian Citrus Psyllid is in Alameda County and puts the health of our backyard citrus trees at risk.
Since there is currently no cure for the disease, the best management strategy is reducing the psyllid vector with insecticides and removal of infected trees. Learn more about this new threat to California's commercial and backyard citrus by clicking on the photo link.
There is an active quarantine area in Alameda County. To prevent the spread of the pest, backyard citrus within this area should not be moved. Check the map to see if your neighborhood is within the quarantine area. Even those outside the quarantine area should only transport citrus plants from licensed and certified commercial growers.
The US Department of Agriculture has created a wonderful online resource for learning more about the disease -
