The National Digital Inclusion Alliance (NDIA) has recognized Albemarle County as a 2023 Digital Inclusion Trailblazer. Principles of Trailblazer recognition include setting a national standard for excellent digital inclusion work, as well as promoting the work of local governments to empower our communities. This recognition highlights some of the work of our organization as we continue to embrace the power of technology to bridge divides and empower lives through digital inclusion. We’re all seeking to make a difference, one connection at a time. Here are some key milestones to support these initiatives:

• established a regional coalition of community organizations, state and local governmental bodies, and other stakeholders to jointly address issues of digital inclusion
• developed and implemented a County-wide supplement to the Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP), extending that program’s benefit to up to $50 per month
• received a $250,000 grant from the FCC to establish an ACP Navigator program to increase regional enrollment in the Affordable Connectivity Program
