Playground renovations begin in mid-August!
Anticipated Completion: Spring 2023

Gainesville’s busiest playground is being renovated to be fully accessible to children of all ages and abilities.
Albert “Ray” Massey (Westside) Park
1001 NW 34th St.

Children will have the opportunity for play on a fully inclusive playground! Accessible play surfacing and a colorful theme will boost imaginative play within the fenced playground.

Inspired by the NW 8th Avenue Solar Walk public art installation, the new space-themed playground will offer physical, social and sensory play experiences for children of all ages and abilities. The renovation will also include installation of a nearby restroom and lighting in and around the playground.

The approximate construction cost is $1,481,512. Scherer Construction of North Florida, LLC will be facilitating the work.

To allow for improvements, the existing playground at Albert “Ray” Massey Park will be unavailable to the public during construction. Patrons are encouraged to utilize other nearby parks. Please visit https://www.gainesvillefl.gov/Parks.
