Baseball field improvements and parking area reconfiguration are complete!
Wild Spaces & Public Places and Parks, Recreation and Cultural Affairs are pleased to announce completed work at Albert "Ray" Massey Park
Recently Completed
Improvements to baseball fields 1 and 2 included field regrading, new “performance” turf, reconstruction of the ramps to the scorer’s platform, a new ADA accessible viewing area over field 1 and erosion stabilization measures.

Improvements to the park’s Northwest 34th Street/SR 121 parking areas included permanent closure of the southernmost entrance to minimize vehicular traffic adjacent to the children’s playground. The entrance closure also reduced congestion and safety concerns at the intersection with NW 8th Ave. Additional parking area upgrades included a reconfiguration to provide 20 new parking spaces, dedicated bus, scooter and motorcycle parking and tripled the number of ADA accessible spaces. Improvements also included replacement of the park's 50-year-old water main.

The project cost was $810,449. Hicks Asphalt Paving & Concrete Company, a small, local vendor, was the contractor for the project.
