We hope you are enjoying your summer and getting all the great bodywork you
Jackie Melsopp, LMT
need! Alchemy is an active place, and we want to share some of what is going on this month.

First, let us introduce you to someone who you may want to work with. Jaclyn Melsopp, LMT has joined us at Alchemy, bringing wonderful skills in Therapeutic Massage with a specialty in Myofascial Release.

We expect Jackie to be a sought after member of our team. Read on to learn more and schedule a session to see for yourself!

Shelby had a chance to experience David's touch when receiving a PreNatal CranioSacral therapy session recently. We were really interested in the shifts she noticed.

Our friend Grace Porter is beginning another Taming the Bear series. We won't have a chance to host an introduction this summer, yet do encourage you to learn more about the workshop.

Finally, you may remember Amelia's involvement in the legislation that created a new Maryland Massage Therapy Examiners' Board. The Governor's office is also looking for two consumer members to sit on the board - might one of those members be you?
The other afternoon, Shelby had the opportunity to hop on the table and receive a PreNatal CranioSacral Therapy session with our David Paad, CNM, RN. We wanted to share her comments, because she is pregnant and can give feedback about something not everyone can experience.

"Of course, it felt great and was relaxing! What was interesting though was what shifted. At one point, David was working with my pelvis, and I could feel it release and relax. Baby was happy and active during the session. She was kicking David and moving around. What was best is the change I noticed after the session. It feels like there is more room for the baby to grow. She has more space in my belly. While she continues to be active and moving, it doesn't feel like she is wedged in under my ribs as much anymore. So much more comfortable for both of us!"

We have to say, your experience may be completely different, and this is what presented during Shelby's session, and she felt wonderful afterward. Learn more about David and PreNatal CranioSacral Therapy.
Alchemy is pleased to welcome Jackie to the practice.  She has great hands and a wonderful intuitive way about her that makes for massage sessions that bring real change.

Jackie is a New York native, former rugby player, and yogi. She became a Yoga Teacher in 2010 and a Maryland Licensed Massage Therapist in 2013. Initially, she became interested in yoga while studying at Towson University. Jackie found yoga to be a real help during a bout of depression and continued on to teacher training as it became clear that yoga was a lasting part of her life.

Jackie began her career in massage therapy with only a gut feeling, and it's been decision she's never doubted. She specializes in Myofascial Release and deep tissue massage. She enjoys working with all the different bodies that have found their way to the table with her. Each body carries with it a different story, as each of us has been shaped and influenced by the life we have lived. Read more about Jackie here.

Jackie has regular hours on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday during the day, and in the evenings most of these days. She  sees clients for one hour ($85) or one and a half hour sessions ($115) that can include different massage modalities as needed by your body on that day.
The state of Maryland created a new oversight board this year, separating the Chiropractic and Massage Therapy boards. The Board of Massage Therapy Examiners and will consist of five licensed massage therapist members and two consumer members. The Governor's office is seeking applicants for the consumer positions. Are you interested in being a part of this board and supporting and overseeing a growing and important healthcare profession in Maryland? Do apply! Interested candidates cannot ever have been a massage therapist nor be a household member with a massage therapist. Meetings are monthly, on a Thursday. A small stipend and travel expenses are covered.
