Alcohol and Drug Prevention
April is Alcohol and Drug Prevention Month. You affect other people, even if you don’t think you do. People notice your actions. You have influence. Think about it. What someone sees you do, can change their life. That one choice strengthens you, strengthens others, and strengthens your Nation.

Remember you strengthen your nation! For more information about the I Strengthen My Nation alcohol and drug prevention media campaign please click here. If you are looking for tools to help engage youth, please click here for great resources to track change and use.

Helping AI/AN youth develop healthy decision-making skills through the Native STAND Program

Native STAND – Students Together Against Negative Decisions – is a healthy decision-making curriculum that reduces risky behaviors surrounding STIs, teen pregnancy, and healthy relationships. The program is designed for high school age youth, and includes interactive exercises organized into 27 sessions. The Native STAND Teacher’s Guide is available on the Healthy Native Youth portal.

Youth who participate in the program report sharing information they learned with their peers and getting involved in youth leadership activities.
